I am remodeling our dining room & it is a full on gut.
I am getting brand modern lodgeets, countertops, appliances, modern flooring laid, modern lights & windows.
I have everything set up to buy & a spreadsheet of expenses. I am debating on a single expense though, Heating, Ventilation, & A/C in the dining room. Right now our living room has a gas fireplace that is supposed to sizzling the dining room quite a distance away. It doesn’t really do the task. The dining room is always chilly cold in the winter. I occasionally run a space heating system for fear that our pipes will freeze. I suppose I need some kind of furnace. I have looked into heated flooring, a ventless heating system & a ductless mini split. Heated flooring is non invasive, quiet & could do the task right. However, I don’t want to add height or weight to the floors. A ventless heating system would work perfectly however it does take up space where another dining room lodgeet could go. I dislike to supply up space for an ugly heater. A mini cut mounts on a wall & I could set it right next to our window, however nothing was going there anyway. Another pro to this device is it can also supply AC. Having a little cooling during the summertime would be really nice. I wouldn’t be afraid to run the oven or stove top. Right now I try to avoid it since I don’t want the heat lingering throughout our house. A mini cut is quite high-priced though. I would need to readjust our dining room budget.
