We’ve been building an in-law suite onto our lake house for the past more than 2 weeks. As both of us were working with the builder, she hired an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation to help out with putting in the additional HVAC duct plus air vents plus air registers in the addition. It was confusing to myself and others when they started asking if both of us wanted to tie in the addition to our existing Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C program or not. I really have no program about what makes the most sense when it comes to heating plus cooling in our home. The only thing I know is that if I turn the thermostat up in the winter, I want the oil furnace to come on. And if I turn the thermostat down in the summer, I want the air conditioning to come on plus beginning cooling the lake house down! So as you can imagine, I didn’t have much of an opinion as to what would be the best way to set up our addition for our heating plus cooling system. Apparently, the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation thought that both of us needed to put in a up-to-date Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C machine to support the added load that both of us would be putting on the program with all of the up-to-date space in the addition. And while that made sense to me, I really didn’t want to spend a ton of cash on an additional Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system! The people I was with and I were already over budget with the addition as it was! The people I was with and I ended up doing what the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation recommended, though. She said it would cost even more if both of us ended up having to do it later once the rest of the work was already done.
