One thing that really grinds my gears is hearing someone say that they don’t see the point in paying for better heating and A/C.
It seems like one of those obvious staples, like having bread in your house, or access to running water.
And yet, many of my coworkers, family members and friends believe that there’ s no need for heating systems in their homes. Can you believe that? First of all, it’s important to remember that a heating system is a critical part of any HVAC system. Second, it’s equally important to know that when you’re in a situation that calls for central heating, there is no replacement! Having a centralized heating system allows you to heat the entire house at once, without having to skip certain rooms or not heat specific areas. Now, on the flipside, some say that the central heating systems cost a homeowner tons of money each month. This is true, as the average electric furnace uses at least five times the amount of energy as an A/C unit would! However, that’s due to the furnace being set to heat an entire house. Logically speaking, that’s a lot of heat to create on a continual basis! To address the issue, it makes far more sense to just use portable space heaters when you only need a few rooms heated. While I don’t like to stray away from what’s tried and true, like central heating, I know that there are plenty of people who genuinely feel that the heating system isn’t necessary. If the customer is truly okay with simply using portable space heaters and carrying them around, so be it!
