Working my way to the top

A Lot of people think that since I work at my dads HVAC company that I have a job that I don’t have to work hard at or face any hardships. Even though I wish this was partially the case, this has not been my experience whatsoever. Ever since I started working as an apprentice for my father at his HVAC repair company I have been working my tail off. While some of the younger guys who I work with don’t face much if any backlash when they make a simple mistake while on the job, I am held to a completely different standard. On a typical workday I spend the majority of my time out on repair calls shadowing some of the veteran HVAC repair techs on the staff. Ff I am not doing that I am back at headquarters handling inventory or answering any calls that come in that is. Despite how much of a grind it has been working her so far I am still as determined as ever to become a certified HVAC tech and one day take over the business in place of my father when I am older and more experienced. I secretly can tell that is what my father wants as well and he is simply trying to put me through his version of HVAC hell to prepare me for the role of his successor, but there is no way that he would actually tell me that. Being at the bottom of the totem pole is never easy no matter where you are working, but I know that sooner or later I will reach the top and make my father proud.
